Membership

Your membership and all subsequent funding and support measures are conditional upon your acceptance of the following terms:

  • As a Québec-Océan member, you must inform the coordination of all important milestones in your academic progress, including the following dates, where applicable:
    • Master’s thesis presentation date
    • PhD candidacy date
    • Initial thesis submission date
    • Thesis defence date
    • Final thesis submission date
    • Withdrawal date
    • Enrolment date in a new academic program

If you fail to provide this information, you hereby authorize Québec-Océan to obtain this information from the program director or other responsible parties at your university, faculty, department, or institute.

  • By submitting my membership application, I authorize Québec-Océan to collect, use, and retain the personal information provided as part of my membership (name, contact details, status, etc.) for the following purposes:
    • To manage my membership status and applications;
    • To inform me of the organization’s activities, events, and news;
    • To maintain up-to-date membership lists and internal communications;
    • To establish the overall demographic profile of Québec-Océan members.
  • I authorize Québec-Océan to collect, transfer to the finance services, and securely retain my banking information, study permit and personal address in order to:
    • Process payments and expense reimbursements (grants and claims) related to my research activities or study project.

Personal information will be archived securely and used only for the purposes stated above and for the organization’s historical records. It will not be shared with any third party without my explicit consent, except as required by law.

Banking information will be stored securely and used only for the purposes stated above, for as long as the membership remains active with Québec-Océan. It will not be shared with any third party without my explicit consent, except as required by law. When a member becomes inactive, this information will be securely deleted within a reasonable timeframe, unless a legal obligation requires its retention for a specified period.

At any time, you can request to access, modify, or withdraw your personal information by contacting the main coordination.

Your request will be sent to the Québec-Océan central coordination and to your thesis supervisor for approval.
