200000 seal calf off the Magdalen Island
Approximately 200,000 whitecoats were born near the coasts of the Magdalen Islands, a situation that has not been seen in 10 years according to Mike Hamill (Fisheries and Oceans Canada). According to Mike Hamill, current ice conditions are favorable for pupping this year.
