In collaboration with GRIL - Groupe de Recheche interuniversitaire en Limnologie, Quebec-Ocean is involed in the organization of bar of sciences during the next ASLO-SIL Joint Meeting 2026, held in Montreal from May 12-16.
The event will take place on May 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Bar Pamplemousse in Montreal. Under the theme “Giving the St. Lawrence Room to Breathe,” this discussion will bring together freshwater and marine experts to discuss the major issues affecting the St. Lawrence in a friendly and accessible setting. You do not need to be registered for the conference to participate in the science bar (the panel will be in French, but you may ask questions in the language of your choice).
Free! Registration required : Reserve your spot for the bar of sciences
Our researcher members Fanny Noisette and Chrisitian Nozais will also act as Chairs for this session SS035 Bridging the gap in macrophyte research across realms: from ecological concepts to nature-based solutions in marine and fresh waters.
This congress will stimulate exchange of methodological approaches and learning across scales by bringing together scientists from freshwater and marine realms. The many ways these environments intersect will be a focal point, be it through organismal interactions or processes of stratification that underpin biogeochemical states. Furthermore, we wish to evoke connections among scientists as well as with stakeholders and indigenous knowledge keepers in the spirit of codesign to address society’s greatest issues around aquatic habitats and water resources.
